Each step is designed to encourage learning and improve existing skills in a fun and safe environment. This is a great opportunity for children to interact with others while enhancing their sliding abilities. White Stars (Step 1-2) For the new or fairly new skier or snowboarder. No experience necessary, just a willingness to learn and have fun. Lessons focus on beginner runs. Green Gliders (Step 3-4) For students who are able to snow plow and make it down a beginner run independently. Skiers will focus on balance, mobility and balancing on the outside ski. Boarders will link turns on green terrain and learn speed control using edging and pressure control. Blue Barons (Step 5-6) For students who are able to ski/board down a blue run. Skiers will work on skiing parallel through the turn while maintaining balance over the outside ski. Boarders will learn to link turns with speed control, utilizing flexion and extension and varying turn size and shape. Black Bullets (Step 7-8) For skiers/boarders who confidently link parallel turns down the hill on varied terrain. Skiers will improve timing and coordination of steering, edging and pressure control on difficult terrain. Boarders exposed to majority of terrain. Intro to carving and riding switch, as well as speed control on the steeps. Introduction to Terrain Park features. Tali Tykes - Ski Only Designed for children ages 3-5 years. Fun, progressive and within a safe environment, this is the right choice to introduce your child to the sport of skiing or to improve those who are already sliding. Skier progression is based upon skill development appropriate to Talisman Resort Village. Classes for children who have never skied before and classes for those who have some previous experience. Gravity Freestyle This program is geared towards the young free-skier/snowboarder looking to be introduced to Park features. The progressive 8-week program will introduce skiers to the Park features with an emphasis on Park Etiquette, Safe Approach, Take-off and Landing. Participants must be able to ski parallel/board comfortably on blue trails of Talisman Resort Village. Helmets are required to participate in this program. (Minimum Black Bullets for Ages 10-15) Learn to Race Skiers should be able to parallel ski and snowboarders must be able to snowboard with speed on blue runs. All students must be able to ride all chairlifts independently. Skill development will focus on balance, edging and pressure control. Students will be introduced to skiing in race gates. Helmets are mandatory for this program. (Minimum Blue Barons for Ages 7-12) Dream Teens For the skier/snowboarder who likes to do a bit of everything, this program is the ultimate variety pack. Weekly sessions include skier/rider improvement, introduction to moguls and terrain features, racing gates as well as the basics of instructor training.(Ages 13-17) Adult All-Mountain This program is designed for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, ages 18 and up. The program consists of five consecutive morning or afternoon programs running Monday, March 15 to Friday March 19, 2010. If you are joining the Talisman Snow School for the first time or if you are returning to master the next level, we have the group for you! We are also excited to offer a March Break Program Lift and Rental package. Your full day beginner lift ticket, 1 hour lesson and full day rental equipment are included in the cost. Lessons are offered at 10am or 1:30pm. Minimum age requirement is 7 years old. Skiing $63 Snowboarding $69 Please note that a credit card # for confirmation is required at the time of reserving a lesson. Lesson will be charged if the reservation is not cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the time of the lesson.
